离子迁移是指电路板上的金属如铜、银、锡等在一定条件下发生离子化并在电场作用下通过绝缘层向另一极迁移而导致绝缘性能下降。
绝缘电阻劣化（离子迁移）评估系统是一种信赖性试验设备，它通过在印刷电路板上施加固定的直流电压，并经过长时间的测试（1~1000小时可按需定制），观察线路是否有瞬间短路的现象发生，并记录电阻值的变化状况，从而评估绝缘材料的劣化程度和离子迁移现象的影响
